1977 

Om Prakash "Omi" Makhija is a lesser film craftsman in Hindi film who lives with his mom Bela in a Mumbai chawl and is enamored with a popular famous film entertainer named Shantipriya Kashyap. He and his closest companion Pappu Master take on little acting jobs as film additional items at R. C. Studios, a significant film studio compound claimed by maker Mukesh Mehra. At the shooting of a film, Om salvages Shanti after a fire outgrows control, and they become companions.
